The flagship beer from D’Equí brewery is a DDH IPA in the style of Torpedo Extra IPA from Sierra Nevada.xFor an interesting explanation of the difficulties of the DDH term, check out this excellent VinePair article. True to style, and admirably holding up the DDH flag, Metal IPA is an aromatic hop concoction. There is a good reason that this is the most popular beer in the D’Equí line-up.

Across the US, breweries have been all releasing dry hopped or DDH beers, and interpretations vary widely. From Anchor brewery’s Dry Hopped Steam beer to Brasserie Dupont’s Saison Cuvée Dry Hopping, the style is a wild-fire success. And for those of us who are confirmed hop heads, nothing could be better than the world deciding to find new an innovative ways to jam more hops into our beers.

Metal IPA stands tall among these DDH offerings. Resin, Pine, and funky aromas give way to tropical citrus and grapefruit flavors, and the thirst-quenching bitterness is never overwhelming.
