Truly local food predominates here. The garden and the hunt are most important. Important for its carne roxa, cabritos and corderos. It produces three types of cheese: Gamonéu, Cabrales, and Afuega’l Pitu, and it hosts a Certamen del Queso de los Picos for these cheeses in October. It also has a Feria de la Miel at the same time.
