This concejo is popular for its vegetables, with cimois (rapini) and nabizas (turnip greens) being its stars, and cooked in several forms: broth, with lacón, in pote. Also worth highlighting is the rapa or rapón de maíz (a type of empanada). For a sweet taste of Boal, they offer venera (almond, hazelnut or walnut cake) and requexón con miel de brezo (mascarpone-style cheese topped with heather honey). Honey is very important in Boal, and they celebrate the Feria de la Miel in the fall.
